ALPINISTAS… winter edition
The Next Edition: ALPINISTAS
From Design Natives to Eclectic Rebels and Alchemists of Italy, The Aficionados’ collectible series has always mapped the intersection of culture and design. The forthcoming instalment, ALPINISTAS, turns its gaze to the Alps, a region where centuries of craft and tradition are being reinterpreted with a modern sensibility.
This is a design-led edition that explores the Alpine aesthetic in all its facets. Timber chalets are reimagined as contemporary manifestos, stone farmhouses are recast as cultural landmarks and folkloric motifs are woven into interiors of quiet sophistication. Here, mountains, forests, lakes and pistes form more than a backdrop. They shape a design language that balances heritage with innovation.
Only 25 hotels are selected, each chosen for architectural integrity and cultural resonance. Between these features, ALPINISTAS introduces brands and makers who share an Alpine sensibility, from furniture and lighting to ceramics and textiles. The result is a layered portrait of the Alps that reflects both history and modernity.
The magazine itself is conceived as an object of design: 148 pages, soft bound, full colour and published in a 24.0 cm x 29.5 cm format. With a print run of 22,000 copies, ALPINISTAS will be released in December 2025 to coincide with the winter ski season.
Distribution extends across more than 100 hotels in 21 European countries, with placement in 1,600 suites, rooms, and villas and key positioning within hotel lounges, bars, and spas. The magazine is also available through select retailers, including Iconic in New York, Do You Read Me in Berlin, New Mags in Copenhagen, and the Monocle Cafés in Zurich, Toronto, Tokyo, and London.
Each edition achieves an estimated 175,000 in-room encounters, further amplified through The Aficionados’ online journal, newsletters and international press releases.
As with previous series, copies disappear swiftly. ALPINISTAS offers brands and hotels the opportunity to be part of a highly targeted publication that speaks directly to architects, designers, hoteliers, journalists and cultural travellers. To appear within its pages is to join a dialogue on the future of Alpine design, one that honours tradition while embracing its modern recalibration.
